A Garden Party... Yorktown Engagement Photography

At one point last night, while I was shooting this event, I remember thinking, "When I grow up... I want to have a garden just like this..."

With twinkle lights in the bushes, cold drinks on the porch, and jazz playing in the background it made for a beautiful party.

All of this to celebrate the engagement of Steven and Robin who will be married this fall in southern california.

I'm glad I was able to spend these few hours with you...




This might have been after the whale joke... or before? Either way, the whale joke is now engrained in my memory... hahaha!

Precious Cam ... Suffolk Newborn Photography

I had the pleasure of meeting an adorable little man today... only 8 days old, Cam and I hung out for the better part of the morning. At first he wanted nothing to do with sleep and just looked around, checking out my gear, my sister (who graciously assisted me today), but most of all his mommy.

Towards the end though... he finally gave into the pressure (maybe it was the space heater, or the sound machine... or the multiple feedings?) and snoozed for us a bit.

Here you go mom and dad! We had a great time I can't wait to show you the rest!!








Cam has an older brother... who loves playing with his toy trains and legos and loooves peanut butter!

An Evening Maternity Session... Portsmouth Maternity Photography

This gorgeous young lady got in touch with me a few weeks ago asking for some maternity shots... she's an aspiring photographer down in the Elizabeth City area!

We met in downtown Portsmouth and walked around and chatted and had a great time! Granted, it was HOT and HUMID... and I was sweating like stuck pig... but it was fun nonetheless!

The Beautiful Light... Carrolton Family Photographer Hampton Roads

I love what I do. Somehow, every family I shoot is just absolutely gorgeous. Maybe I'm biased, but really...

Take this family for example... Mom told me these are their first family photos in over four years! They drove up to the shoot in a very cool Jeep, hopped out of the car and I thought to myself, "Wow!! They look great! This is going to be awesome..." And it certainly was.

Thank-you so much for choosing me to photograph your beautiful family!

We started the shoot off at just the right time I think... it was still pretty warm, but the sun was getting low in the sky... the good light was in the making... :)


Is this little one not breath-taking?!


And this little man... I don't think they can get more handsome. A little reluctant at first, he warmed up after we had a nice sand throwing contest :)




...and there it is folks... my favorite kind of light... warm and inviting... and these two little kids laughing in the sand... that's what makes what I do worth it every time! I adore this image.


One of mom and dad. Now we can see where those kids get their beauty! A gorgeous couple.

Morning in the Park...Hampton Family Portrait Photographer

The session this morning was for a special family...


Their kiddos are friends with my kiddos...


This mama and I have the same taste in lotsa good stuff... like threading studios for our eyebrows...clothes... shoes... the important stuff!


Their second son is almost... as crazy as my second son...


... and their boys are full of life ... just like mine!

I had a great time playing in the park with you guys this morning! Our family truly appreciates EVERYTHING that you have done for us. Here's a heartfelt thank-you!
