Watching Them Grow... Hampton Family Photographer

One of my favorite things about portrait photography is being able to watch kiddos grow. I had a session tonight with a family that I just love! We were commenting about how they've grown so much in the matter of a few months. Just last fall they looked like this:

Holiday Mini-Sessions Announced!

I know it's only July... but I'm already booking sessions into September and I just wanted to be sure we get this information out in time for everyone to make plans.

My schedule will be very condensed this fall... so if you're wanting a session for holiday cards, this is your chance!



As soon as you can, let me know if you're interested in one of these sessions! A $100 deposit is required to hold your requested time, with the balance due the day of the session.

I have to admit... just putting together this holiday themed promotion... got me all excited about the holidays! It's SO my favorite time of year :)

Thankful.

It's a little early, but we'll be driving to spend the day with family tomorrow and I wanted to be sure to get this in.

I have SO much to be thankful for.


* My beautiful boys... who can always make me smile and are truly the light of my life...
* My husband who is so supportive and puts up with my madness...
* My sister who is more amazing than she'll ever know...
* My parents for teaching me...
* My friends for just BEING with me & understanding me & laughing with me...
* My in-laws who raised the cutest little boy into a wonderful man...
* The military for providing a roof over our heads and putting food on our table, exposing us to new places every few years, and for providing us with friends, quite literally, all over the world (8 countries at last count I think...).
* My camera. Aside from my family, it's my life.
* and... my clients... who trust me to capture their family memories. My clients over the past year have been gracious, patient, honest, caring, and open as I've worked so hard to build this business. I am SO thankful for ALL of you.


This is everything that is autumn and thanksgiving to me. The smell of autumn... leaves burning in the distance, that moist almost musky smell of wet leaves against the cool air in the morning.... I miss fall up north. But I'm happy to be where we are now.

The View

If it's a beautiful sunny day, there's almost always a group of white sailboats out on the harbor. This day, though, they were joined by a few colorful boats...

The pictures never do it justice.

You can't hear the wind blowing...

... or the waves hitting the shore...




I love where I live.

In more business related news... September has purposefully been a slow month. I'm taking a bit of a break. Maybe the calm before the storm?

October is shaping up to be VERY busy. Almost all my Saturdays are already booked up...and Sundays are on their way to filling up as well.

Sleeping Boys & Holiday Session Update!

Just a quick share.

This past weekend we took the kids down to the VA Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, then walked around the Seawall Art Show in Old Towne Portsmouth. The sports place... eh... not really my cup of tea, but I loved the art show. Mixed media artists, sculptures, a lot of photographers... it was great.

And it wore the boys out.

And She Finally Blogs Easter...

Whew. A visit with old friends, 3 kids under 6, a bout of food poisoning, and my husband's 31st birthday. It's been a long few days... but here we are... some pictures for you!



It was very low-key... yummy food, a very basic easter egg hunt out in the front yard (which Trey proceeded to tell us was "vewwy eeeasy...")...



We had the cutest little girl over... her daddy works with DJ and is gone for a while, so we took some pictures in her cute little easter dress :)



This is a new favorite of mine. Yes, I just had it printed as a huge canvas. I can't wait to see it!! Do you want to see the canvas? Come see me at the Langley Bazaar! I'll have it out there for all to see!! (more on that soon).
