Just a quick one for you today. Ginormous bathtub, a gorgeous big picture window, seashells, and 3 little blue-eyed kiddos, me barefoot with a camera... *sigh* I was in heaven.
These kids may look vaguely familiar if you've been following my blog for a while... This is the second time I've met them, the
first time, was last winter! First, I feel a strange sense of motherly pride after spending time shooting a family... Second, as a result of my strange sense of motherly pride for families I don't know, I begin to refer to them as "my kids" ... Third, they are clearly NOT my kids, so this may officially classify me as strange.
Forgive me. If there's one thing about my kind of portrait photography that I love, it's the fact that, when done right, so much personality conveys via the images. That's what I am addicted to...what I crave. Though I find many posed portrait images beautiful (and, guffaw, yes I even enjoy taking some of those shots...), when everyone is sitting perfect and rigid and posed, you don't see as much of the spirit inside of them, the personality bubbling over in the kids, it's much more fun when it's real... a moment captured.
Good stuff.
Until next time,
~ K
